California Sept 2026 – Disney with my bros

Had some mandatory training in Anaheim so I drove down for a couple of weeks. Stayed with my cousin Tiff on the way down. It was really nice to see her!

Worked a couple of short shifts on Friday afternoon and Saturday evening. Went to see some local sights the rest of the weekend.

Went out to the South Coast Botanical Garden in Torrance to see Dambo trolls. 🙂

Had some amazing food at Riverbelle Terrace that weekend!

Stayed at Doheny beach for a night

They are selling the apartment I lived in. It’s not as expensive as I would have thought, but the HOA fees and taxes are crazy high.

Gary and Dave flew in on Tuesday afternoon. I found the most incredible place that morning. Sidecar Doughnuts and Coffee.

I played Stardew Valley and thoroughly enjoyed them

We got settled at the hotel and then went to Oogie Boogie Bash. Dave hadn’t been to the parks for like 20 years and never at Halloween so he was really stoked.

One of the treat trails had Doofenshmirtz! 🙂

We spent the next two days there as well. I had to do some training one of the days, so Dave and Gary spent the morning there without me.

I got to see 3 former students from the same family, the Dunyons. It was so nice to reconnect!

On Friday after my second day of training, I took off on a road trip. First stop (as per usual)…SOLVANG!

They have a replica of the Round Tower! I saw the original when I was in Copenhagen!

My favorite restaurant there. I got 2 extra orders of the potato salad to go. Delicious.

20 September Next I went to Filoli Gardens in the Bay Area to see another troll…this one you can climb up into!

Also enjoyed the gardens…

Drove up to the Eugene O’Neill National Historic Site. There happened to be a big event happening up there that I sort of crashed. But it’s hard to find a time when this place is open, so you gotta do what you gotta do!
