The boat trip that got cancelled on Thursday finally sailed today!Off to Kenai Fjords!Left pretty early, so the sun was just peeking over the mountainsResurrection BaySat inside for a lot of the trip since it was quite cold Saw a bunch of fin whales as soon as we left the bayThen a pod of orcas! No Name Island complete with Stellar sea lionsChat IslandHolgate GlacierI love all the different textures you can see when you zoom in! I wish that we could have gotten closer! And right next to it…Surprise Glacier!Cool waterfalls!!Time to go! 😊
Chiswell Islands
Puffins!More sea lions 💚Bear Glacier has a lake in front of it with huge icebergs! Couldn’t really see it well so I’d love to go back there
I didn’t get much from the last part of the cruise because the Dramamine I took so that I wouldn’t get seasick made me really drowsy. So I actually slept for a while on the boat. When I woke up they had fresh chocolate chip cookies. Yum
They tracked out route and animal sightings 😊Drove to Anchorage. On the way I stopped for a bit in Chugach National Forest – Falls CreekThey are constructing a new Anchorage temple so I couldn’t get to the grounds of the current oneFrom a distance Through the chain link fence haha
I thought I was going to go to Matanuska glacier tonight, but I really really needed a shower and all of the campgrounds out there didn’t have them. Plus I wanted to go to church tomorrow and the closest one is in Palmer. So I actually backtracked and I’m staying at a pretty weird place called Fox Run camp. The office is an old converted house with a lot of random stuff all over the place. The kitchen has been made over into a restaurant so I went there for dinner.
May’s Asian restaurantVeggie eggrolls and a veggie stirfry. Super yummy! The shower was kind of weird, but I have not enjoyed a shower that much for a long time hahaSo clean 😊My campsite overlooking the lake. Purty
My first excursion to actually get off the ground! Henry took great care of us in this Cessna floatplane Felt very official with my headset on. The sound was deafening in there so it’s a good thing we had them!Taking off!Flying out of Homer Ninilchik BaySt Augustine, super cool volcanic island

I wish I could have gotten a picture of this but rainbows when you’re flying are complete rings!!
Katmai National Park
Coming in for a landingParked at the beach Graduated from bear school. 🐻 I’m so smart 😁Brooks Falls from a distance, complete with rainbow.
I walked out to the river viewing area, waiting to be called for my turn at the falls. Ended up walking and talking with Susan, the other single person on my flight.
Got called! Spent the next 30 minutes totally enraptured. I will now add my vast (but pared down) collection of photos and videos (I had 300 of them before I started narrowing it down!)
I really can’t even put into words how incredibly cool this whole experience wasYou could only eat food inside this fenced in area or inside the building. All food and anything with smells have to be walked in a room before you went out anywhere beyond the gates and fences. The entire beach was strewn with pumice!!BOB Bear on BeachGoodbye Katmai!Battle LakeHello Lake Clark! This is the lake that we would have landed on but it was just too windy to safely land. Super bummed!Cool waterfalls! And just check out the color of that waterAbort! Abort! My selfie with Lake Clark National park as we were flying awayLanding back in HomerThanks Henry! Sad that we couldn’t land, but thanks for keeping us safeMy new flying buddies… Wanda, art, Susan, and meAnd with our pilot, HenryMy campsite for the night in SewardQuite a pretty spot
Drove from Denali NP to Kenai Fjords NP. Stopped to catch a flavor of the beautiful misty morningAlso for a short hike through the forest in Denali State ParkI love the solitude Took this .5 for Claire hahaIn Anchorage, I stopped at the Alaskan Wild Berry Products store. No actual berries but a really cool chocolate fountain!Kenai Fjords National ParkHiked up to Exit Glacier. Along the trail, they had marked where the edge of the glacier was in that year. It was seriously a mile hike from this point. So much glacier loss. So sad. A very pretty hikeViews from a couple of places on the way upThere were a few waterfalls on the opposite cliffLots of melt offAnd after the mile hike, the glacier was still so far away! This was zoomed in as far as my camera would allow. I wanted to hike up farther but I decided to be a good girl 😊
When I got down, I drove to where I got service and got on the family Boggle call. So nice to talk to Steve, Alex, Ada, and Rory. Then I went to the KOA where I’m staying but there was no shelter for making my dinner so I opted for dinner at a restaurant.
Incredible herb panko salmon with citrus sauce and blackened sprouts at Resurrection Roadhouse

Incredible view from my campsite! My boat tour out to Kenai Fjords got cancelled. I was very disappointed. But during my scripture study, I read about gratitude and decided that I would treat the day as a bonus and think about all the things I was blessed to see. 😊Lowell FallsLooking out across Resurrection BayAfter watching this, Alex declared “Alaska isn’t real.” HahaWent for a short hike in Lowell State ParkIncredible rainforesty place!Drove to Homer and stopped a few places on the wayStopped for lunch next to Kenai Lake since it had stopped raining for a bitMade myself a delicious impossible burger on this amazing chunky Dakota bread I bought Ate it with these yum chips I bought back in Canada A bit of sunlight poking outHappy to be here! Rained most of the night. Moved most of my burgeoning insect collection.Another idyllic campsiteWent to the north pole to visit Santa 😊The store was super fun! I love Christmas any time of year!So many funny things! This one reminded me of Ada. She once cursed someone saying “I hope you step on Legos!”For Steve, since he always buys lottery tickets when he visit states where you can buy themLaughed at this one. Sent it to Ada and Rory. This one made me think about how people always say that they watch all of my travels by reading my posts and are enviousSo relatableAlex got a kick out of this one Awwwww. I didn’t buy him because I don’t need any more stuffed animals but man I wanted to. I did buy a replacement for my Playmobil nativity scene since it’s missing some pieces and this one was on clearance. And also a Christmas ornament of course.Had lunch at the chowder house and it was delicious although my chowder was very slow to come out. Then I went hunting for sugar cookies because that’s all the Christmas store made me want. Never really found anything good so I might just have to make some of my own when I get home 😊For dinner, I had some grilled salmon at the salmon bake. It was delightful.Walked around Pioneer Park afterwardThey had a little gold rush town with stores and things, but most everything was closed Cool steamboat!
Went back to my hotel room and spent a couple of hours trying to figure out how to rearrange my trip. My flight seeing trip to Gates of the Arctic and Kobuk Valley parks got canceled due to the rain. Tomorrow which was my back up day won’t work either I don’t want to skip two parks so I’m trying to figure out how I can work it out to drive back up here later in the trip when the weather is better.

Alaska…152 Miles
Drove to Denali national Park. They wouldn’t let me exchange my Wednesday bus ticket for a Tuesday one so I had to buy another one, but they weren’t very expensive so that was OK. I was able to reschedule everything else to a day early. Yay!
Started my day at Denali at the café where I had a lovely pickle…… and fish and chips! Then I got on the shuttle bus for the long trek into and out of the park. River photos at rest stop oneIt’s apparently fall here! Some very pretty colorsA fully unclouded view of Denali. Incredible! Our lucky day!The bus driver said 70% of the people who come here never actually see the mountainMore shots along the wayIt was sooooooo wiiiiindy!Saw a bunch of wildlife! Several caribou including this one super close A mama grizzly and cubs from 6.8 miles away hahaMountain sheep from slightly closer 😊After the bus dropped us back off, I got in my car and drove back up some of the way so that I could take better pictures and see things in the evening sun. Jenny Creek heheThe sun started to peek out a bitAnd bam! So visible and stunning!See it’s right there. 😁From so many places!Turns out I’m in love with this mountain 💚My spot at Riley Creek campgroundHiked down to Riley Creek after making my dinnerThe sun cooperated 😊Time-lapse fun

British Columbia and Yukon. 710 miles. Lots of driving today! All along the Alaska Highway.
This is my route!
Started at the Fort Nelson historic museum.
At mile 300 on the highway The church was cool! And a neat model railroad A whole garage of old cars! But the rest of the museum was honestly creepy. All of these mannequins with zombie facesAnd creepy dolls that I just imagine coming alive at night Shudder They kept popping up all over and startling me Saw lots of wildlife on the drive! Bison, a caribou, big horn sheep, even a baby bear! The bison were legit scary to drive by. Ignore the sound of my audiobook haha. Listening to Middlemarch (a great book!)There’s a lodge at this mile marker that serves legendary cinnamon rolls but they were inexplicably closed, even though their hours said they should be open. Very disappointing.Muncho LakeLiard hot springs. I didn’t get in very far because I didn’t want to smell like sulfur all night and they didn’t have showers.Walk-through very cool marshy area over a boardwalk to get there and backYay!! Got service just past this point for a short while 😊Found this funky place!
Stopped for the night at a rest stop a couple of hours from Whitehorse.

This is what I woke up to!Misty and beautiful. The sun just rising through the trees Went to church in Whitehorse. Beautiful log chapel Many stunning things along the drive
The road through the last part of the Yukon territory was pretty sketch. So many potholes and gravel patches and construction sections. Took a really long time to get through.

Disney gave CMs who registered quickly a free comp ticket and a preview ride on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ahead of its opening on Nov 15th. So I took Ada. Her friend Miranda came along because they had been hoping to get a trip together for a while now. We flew from Provo on Monday morning and back Wednesday afternoon. Spent 2 days in the parks and then a chill last morning, lunch at the hotel, and an Uber to the Santa Ana airport.
I love the way a Disney hotel greets you. Disney music softly plays in the background 😊This was Ada’s first time staying at a Disney hotel. We stayed in the fantasy tower. Fun flooring No Mr Toad though 😢 Ada was very disappointed haha The final paper tickets. They won’t be printing them anymore Big Thunder is always a great start to any day Pooh bear!! My friend Eddie let us go twice We got return times for everything we could. Afternoon break…I went to physical therapy, they napped, then we all went for a swim. Warm water but chilly when you got out! Hot tub was perfect 😊Heading back to the parks aboard a haunted elevator. They had lots of mansion decor at the hotel Baymax makes an amazing pumpkinStarted day to at DCA with racers and then guardiansWebslingersPosed with the horseman before doing soarinSpent a little solo time in the wilderness areaLove me some nature You can see where the villains’ grove magic happens Incredicoaster!Midway Mania!I got the high score but it was really fun because I was alone Fun surprise when we got back to the room! After the break we went back to Disneyland. We tried to get Miranda on Tiana’s for the preview too but they were really strict about Cast +1. We got soaked!!!!The cutest little store Ray’s Berets29 October was my hire date. Two years with the company!Celebrated with a button next to the boat where I started 😊We bought cute matching sweatshirts I didn’t get to spend much time with just Ada. We only went on on ride just her and me (Tiana). My knee often needed more room so Ada and Miranda would go together. And the scooter is low down and not easily walking speed so I really spent a lot of time alone. But it was a very fun trip
I flew to Orlando from LAX Wednesday morning (needed a direct flight) and lucked out with a not full flight and sweet flight attendants who got me a spot closer to the front with a seat next to me so I could stretch out my leg. And the airport accessibility team had a wheelchair waiting for me when I got off the plane. So that wasn’t too bad. Took a mears connect to my resort (art of animation) and my room was ready so I got settled. Gary and fam were supposed to be there late that night but their flight got moved forward a whole day so I did the first day and a half on my own.
The Cars Suite is so adorable. This foldout couch is where Em slept. I slept on the fold-down bed in here. And did my knee bending exercises on the tableGary and Jason took this bed (although I did the first night since I was alone!)I did a little work, some laundry, and went for a swim. It was actually quite cold getting out. Windy. Think it got down to like 50 degrees
Set off on my scooter on the Skyliner to Epcot for the evening. Had fish and chips and bought yummy candy from Grest Britain and tried for a fresh baguette at France but they were out 🙁.
Day 2 Epcot again. Bought this awesome Totoro sweater from the Japan pavilion Impossible spicy kielbasa and pineapple/watermelon dole whip Incredible key lime tart. Love the food festival!Walked through the Moana water stuff. It’s so pretty here!Went back and did some work and had a swim at the big blue pool. The lifeguard there made me take off my fins (I guess they are not allowed!) so that was sad Tried not to gloat too hard when I received this picture of what’s happening back in Utah haha
Went back to Epcot after the break and rode cosmic rewind. It took forever and I missed luminous because of it 😥 but it’s still the greatest ride!
Day 3 – Magic Kingdom with the rest of the gang Did a few rides while lines were short and then got called for Tiana!!Beautiful ride, fun animatronicsdidn’t get too wetOkay got pretty wetTron!!!Took a bus to Hollywood studios to have lunch at Woody’s bbq roundup. What a fun time! Our server Carmelo really added an extra spark After the break we took the Skyliner back to Hollywood studiosDinner at the sci-fi drive in theatre restaurant (fun and delicious as always!) and then we watched fantasmic!Day 4 – Animal Kingdom. Pandora first (flight of passage and then this one (the Navi river ride) After festival of the lion king and lunch at Yak and Yeti, we got in the Everest line. I let Jason drive some while I stood and stretched my legs. Then I realized that I dropped my fuelrod charger somewhere and my phone was almost dead. Got out of line to go find it (it was at the restaurant!) and missed the ride 😢After a busy morning, we were beat! 😊Well they were beat. I was just chillin on my scooter After the break – Magic Kingdom. Did the Aladdin rideFun night. Caught a little bit of fireworks. Ended by shopping on Main Street Day 5 – went to church and walked the outside of the temple grounds (they are renovating)I found the cutest steamboat Willie weighted plush that I did NOT buy (I know. Restraint.)Went for a swim/hung out at the pool
Went to Disney Springs and had fish and chips and got Gideon’s cookies.
Day 6 – Epcot! Breakfast in the Skyliner on the way over Got there early so while we were waiting for rope drop, we played around in the deserted Great Britain pavilion. Everyone took a turn on the scooter. Frozen! They loved Moana!Took a photo with our buddy Walt Em went back to the hotel while white Tower of Terror!!!Dinner at Space 220!A restaurant high above the earthThat you get to on a space elevator 😊The food was incredible!Desserts to die for Hilarious signs in the bathroom It was cool and I had wanted to go fir awhile and Jason was so excited to go, but I was disappointed in how expensive it was (they didn’t give a cast discount and it cost $440 for the 4 of us! And it took like 2 hours! So we mussed ratatoille and getting a baguette to go and part of luminous. Not too big a deal for them because they did those things later but that was my last night and I really wanted to do them. And being in a scooter means that I didn’t get a good view u til the post-show when everyone left. We took our time, moseyed through the lit-up pavilions, and it still took us an hour to get back on the Skyliner.
Left very early the next morning for Utah. A very fun trip despite the disappointing last night 😊
